Covid can reduce if exponentiating number reduces from >1 to <1 One theory is that In India it reduced due to the first person getting it in 1000 friends list and increased after the first person getting vaccine. This happened in all linguistic countries as corona is not understood in that language.

There is also herd immunity and that too could have reduced it.
